Meet the artist: Yun Tang

Tang Yun began studying traditional Chinese painting techniques at the age of nine and started formal training in Western drawing at thirteen. She graduated from the Department of Art Education at Tianjin Normal University. Passionate about experimenting with diverse media, Tang specializes in blending acrylics with traditional Chinese pigments to create unique mixed-media artworks.

Her paintings are known for their dreamy, colorful, and whimsical quality. Without a fixed theme, her creations flow naturally from her emotions and imagination—each piece serving as a quiet dialogue between her inner world and the canvas.

As she beautifully puts it:

“In a turbulent world, the balance we find becomes our own little universe. When there’s nothing else I can do, I just keep painting—bravely pushing through—and somehow, everything gets better. No matter how the world changes, I’m endlessly grateful that I can still paint.”
