Meet the artist: Mi Sook Chung

Mi Sook Chung is an artist driven by both inspiration and education. She works with a wide range of mediums and subjects, with a special passion for watercolor. Her artwork often features picturesque scenes of trees, flowers, and peaceful pathways. Known for her delicate technique, Mi Sook frequently uses tissue paper as a surface to enhance the softness of her watercolors and to encourage beautiful color blending.

With over 30 years of experience teaching children, Mi Sook has guided young artists in various art forms and creative methods. Her studio operated in Garland from 2004 to 2007, and later in Plano from 2008 until 2016. Since 2017, she has offered private lessons for students from pre-kindergarten through age 13. Her curriculum includes instruction in oil painting, pastels, watercolor, acrylics, shading, recycled art, clay and pottery, collage, and more.

Mi Art Studio has remained active in the community by participating in local and state art competitions and exhibitions. Mi Sook takes great pride and joy in teaching art, and she finds inspiration in watching her students’ creativity grow and flourish.
